Force-closure Prediction

Force-Closure Prediction is a computational method in grasp pose estimation that identifies robot hand configurations capable of maintaining a stable grasp on an object by predicting whether the applied forces and moments can resist external disturbances without slip, distinguishing it from general grasp feasibility by explicitly evaluating mechanical equilibrium and frictional constraints.
