Slip Classification is a ceramic classification method that distinguishes pottery types based on the distinctive composition, color, texture, and application technique of the slip—a thin liquid clay coating applied to the vessel surface—thereby enabling the identification of technological practices, stylistic groupings, or cultural affiliations in archaeological assemblages.
