Abstract We apply the strategic human resource management and justice literature to the context of a piloted organizational realignment within a large public university professional school seeking to maintain and enhance its competitive position. In this study, we use interpretive and empirical methodologies to examine the strategy enactment role of procedural justice as related to members' perceptions of the fairness and success of realignment outcomes and of objective performance criteria.
