The Work/Life Interface in Intercollegiate Athletics: An Examination of Policies, Programs, and Institutional Climate

Abstract

Division I athletic administrators reported on the availability, usage, and impact of family supportive policies. Results indicate that benefits are widely available in athletic departments, but usage is average at best, and work-life issues most strongly impact the retention of females. More supportive climates would aid work-life balance and retention.
