Salt Mobilization

Salt Mobilization is a geological process within salt tectonics whereby subsurface salt layers, due to their low density and high ductility, gravitationally detach and flow in response to differential loading, tectonic stresses, or sedimentation-induced instability, thereby driving the deformation and structural evolution of overburden strata.
