Interlanguage

Interlanguage is the linguistic system developed by a second language learner at any point in their acquisition process. This concept investigates the intermediate stages between the learner's first language and the target language, examining the dynamic, systematic, and variable rules and structures they employ as they approximate the target norm. Its significance lies in providing a framework for analyzing learner language, identifying developmental patterns, and understanding the cognitive processes involved in second language acquisition.
