Identification of a cytokine profile in serum and cerebrospinal fluid of pediatric and adult spinal muscular atrophy patients and its modulation upon nusinersen treatment

Abstract

Pediatric and adult SMA patients show an inflammatory signature in serum that is reduced upon <i>SMN2</i> modulating treatment, and the presence of inflammatory mediators in CSF. Our findings enhance SMA knowledge with potential clinical and therapeutic implications.
