In a fast developing world, there is a growing demand for accurate and, in particular, up-to-date data and land relief for various reasons. In practice, it can be a relief of buildings in cities, a forest and agrarian economy, or an infrastructure. Current laser scanning technologies are relatively costly and only performed when necessary. The article is focused on the use of UAV in the 3D mapping process and the comparison of the results of LIDAR images and 3D relief using the RGB spectrum. It is the use of RGB spectrum that provides relatively inexpensive and fast creation of 3D maps with adequate use. The article also points to the use of UAV as such for aerial work.
