The effects of servant leadership on teachers’ organizational commitment in primary schools in Turkey

This study examines the effects of servant leadership behaviours of primary school principals on teachers’ school commitment. The research data were collected from 563 teachers working in primary schools in Düzce. Servant leadership behaviours of principals were measured with a servent organizational leadership assessment scale, and the teachers’ organizational commitment was measured with an organizational commitment scale. This study reveals that there was a significant and positive relationship between servant leadership behaviours of principals and the teachers’ commitment to school. Servant leadership was a significant predictor of teachers’ school commitment.
