Improvements in the acetyl bromide technique to determine lignin and digestibility and its application to legumes

Abstract

Abstract The acetyl bromide method for determining lignin content and digestibility of forage crops has been modified to allow the use of milligram samples and to decrease the operating time. Its applicability to legumes is demonstrated and the differences between the results for grasses and legumes are discussed.
