Despite the wealth of information on the “how-to's” of workplace diversity, relatively little attention has been paid to developing measures of workplace diversity itself. In this article we present the results of a three-year investigation. A multidimensional framework for conceptualizing perceptions of and attitudes toward workplace diversity was constructed, an instrument was developed to measure them, and the instrument was administered in three research settings. Initial results suggest that it offers a valid, useful assessment of diversity attitudes and perceptions. The article concludes with suggestions for future research.
