Quality Trait Screening
Quality Trait Screening is a methodological framework within plant mutagenesis research that systematically identifies and selects mutant genotypes exhibiting enhanced or novel phenotypic attributes directly associated with end-product quality, such as nutritional content, processing suitability, and consumer acceptability, thereby differentiating it from screening approaches focused solely on agronomic or morphological traits.
