Nonclassical Bioisosteres
Nonclassical Bioisosteres is a class of bioisosteric replacements that, unlike classical bioisosteres, do not preserve atom number, size, or valence-electron configuration of the original functional group but nonetheless reproduce its essential steric, electronic, or pharmacophoric features so as to maintain similar biological activity at the target.
