Heritable Dna Methylation Changes

Heritable DNA Methylation Changes is a biological phenomenon in which covalent modifications of cytosine residues in DNA, specifically methylation patterns established or altered by environmental exposures, are transmitted across generations through the germline and persist in offspring, thereby mediating transgenerational epigenetic inheritance of phenotypic traits without changes in the underlying DNA sequence.
