Substrate Specificity in Ketosynthase Domains from <i>trans‐</i>AT Polyketide Synthases

Abstract

Nachbarschaftshilfe: Die Substratspezifitätsprofile für eine Serie von Ketosynthase(KS)-Domänen aus trans-AT-PKS wurden bestimmt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass eine sterisch anspruchsvolle Aminosäure, die sich in Nachbarschaft zum Cys-Rest im aktiven Zentrum befindet, eine Spezifität für nicht-β-methylverzweigte Substrate verleiht (siehe Schema).
