How to favour the development of phonological skills for ail the pupils in Grande Section (nursery school ; 5 year olds). First we remind the ministerial instructions in the fied of phonology teaching in nursery schools ; then we present the devising process and pedagogical and didactic principles of a teaching aid (Phono ) that we have worked out to help the teachers of grande section in their job. Finally, we report the first results of the study on the effects of the use of that teaching aid on the acquirements of pupils in Priority Area Schools.
