We extend the organizational justice literature by drawing from the socially embedded model of thriving at work and examining job satisfaction as an outcome with thriving at work (“thriving”) as a mediating mechanism. Using a two- wave survey study, we hypothesize a) fairness perception is positively associated with on thriving, b) thriving is positively associated with job satisfaction, and c) thriving mediates the effect of fairness perception on job satisfaction. Results of a field sample of 435 full-time employees in a large bank located in Pakistan showed strong support for our hypotheses; employee’s fairness perception was positively associated with job satisfaction, and thriving mediates this relationship.
