Abstract

Freshly voided faeces (within 2 h of defacation) were collected from wild animals like chinkara (Gazella gazella), nilgai (Baselophus tragocamelus), hog deer (Cervus porcinus), spotted deer (Axis axis), and black buck (Antilope cervicapra), kept under captivity at wildlife park of Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar for the isolation of cellulolytic bacteria. Rumen liquor was collected from sheep (Ovis aries) from the farms of Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar kept under stall fed conditions.
