This article offers an introduction to case-based modeling (CBM) and a demonstration of the efficacy of this instructional model. CBM is grounded primarily in the concepts and theory of experiential learning, augmented by concepts of script creation. Although it is labor intensive, the model is one that has value for instruction in various management and interpersonal skills. The CBM approach may be adapted for use in many different topics or business disciplines, in colleges or on the job, in which skill building and decision situations can be embedded in case material. A brief, empirical study of a workplace variation of CBM is offered to help establish the efficacy of the model.
