General and verbal IQ's of three groups of low-income preschoolers were compared before and after exposure of the Experimental group to seven months of Home Sessions stimulating verbal interaction in mother-child dyads. The Experimental group made highly significant cognitive gains in contrast to the two Comparison groups.
