Project CHOICE is a career development program designed specifically for gifted and talented female adolescents. The 14‐week program, based on a diagnostic‐prescriptive model for overcoming internal and external barriers to the realization of potential, was conducted during the 1977–1978 academic year. Since the conclusion of the program, three longitudinal follow‐up studies were conducted. This article provides an overview of the program, a summary of research findings from the longitudinal study, and a discussion of the implications of Project CHOICE findings for those working with gifted and talented young women.
