Abstract

The present study investigated the relationships between constructs of web-based student-centered learning and the learning satisfaction of a diverse online student body. Hypotheses on the constructs of student-centered learning were tested using structural equation modeling. The results indicated that five key constructs of student-centered learning in online courses—learner relevance, active learning, authentic learning, learner autonomy, and computer technology competence—predicted students' perceived satisfaction with online courses and web-based distance education at a statistically significant level.
