Type 2 Immunity

Type 2 Immunity is a host defense mechanism characterized by the activation of CD4+ T helper 2 cells, eosinophils, basophils, mast cells, and the production of cytokines such as IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13, which collectively mediate resistance to helminth infections and promote tissue repair and allergic inflammation.
