Sample Pad Design

Sample Pad Design is a methodological component in lateral flow immunoassays that refers to the engineered porous matrix at the upstream end of the diagnostic strip responsible for receiving and modulating the specimen flow, distinguishing it from other assay components by its function in pre-filtering particulates, absorbing excess sample, and facilitating uniform wicking to the conjugate pad.
