Role Allocation is a coordination mechanism in multi-agent systems that assigns distinct functional responsibilities to individual agents within a collective task, differentiating it from related organizational strategies by its emphasis on dynamically distributing roles based on agent capabilities, task requirements, and emergent group needs during collaborative manipulation, collective transport, or similar emergent behaviors.
