Reflection is a phenomenon studied within nuclear reactor physics concerning the elastic or inelastic scattering of neutrons by materials, resulting in a change of direction. This process is investigated to minimize neutron leakage from the core and optimize the neutron economy essential for sustaining controlled nuclear fission chain reactions and maximizing the efficiency of energy generation in nuclear reactors.
