Pilot Scale Validation is a type of scale-up validation that evaluates the feasibility, performance, and limitations of a paper-level academic contribution under controlled, intermediate-scale conditions prior to full-scale implementation, thereby distinguishing it from both proof-of-concept studies and large-scale deployment validations.
