The Phong Reflection Model is a local illumination model in computer graphics that characterizes the way light reflects off surfaces by combining ambient, diffuse, and specular reflection components, distinguished by its use of an empirical approximation for specular highlights based on the viewer's angle relative to the perfect reflection direction.
