Mucosal Tolerance Induction

Mucosal Tolerance Induction is a biological process within the immune system whereby the mucosal immune system actively suppresses immune responses to harmless antigens, such as commensal microbiota and dietary components, through mechanisms including regulatory T cell activation, dendritic cell modulation, and tolerogenic antigen presentation, thereby maintaining homeostasis at mucosal surfaces.
