Gear Rattle
Gear Rattle is a mechanical vibration phenomenon characterized by non-synchronous impacts between gear teeth in a transmission system, arising from torque fluctuations and backlash under idle or low-load engine conditions, and constituting a specific form of driveline harshness within powertrain noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) analysis.
