Fermi Transition

Fermi Transition is a type of beta decay process in nuclear physics wherein the emitted electron and antineutrino (or positron and neutrino) carry away no orbital angular momentum, characterized by the conservation of total angular momentum and parity with the nuclear spin transition occurring between states of the same orbital configuration and total angular momentum change ΔJ = 0, distinguishing it from Gamow-Teller transitions which involve spin-flip and allow ΔJ = 0, ±1 (excluding 0→0).
