Early Literacy Development
Early Literacy Development is the developmental process by which young children, typically from birth through the early primary grades, acquire the foundational knowledge, skills, and dispositions that support later conventional reading and writing, including emergent understandings of oral and written language, print concepts, phonological awareness, and the functions of literacy within meaningful social contexts.
