Constraint-Based Creativity is a theoretical and methodological approach in creative problem solving that conceptualizes externally imposed or self-selected limitations (such as rules, resources, or boundaries) as productive structuring conditions that focus cognitive search and thereby enhance the novelty, appropriateness, and feasibility of solutions relative to unconstrained ideation.
