Complement-mediated Recognition
Complement-Mediated Recognition is a host-pathogen recognition mechanism in which the complement system, a component of the innate immune system, directly identifies and binds to pathogen-associated molecular patterns or opsonizes pathogens through cascade activation, thereby distinguishing microbial surfaces from host cells via differential recognition of surface chemistry and regulation by host complement inhibitors.
