Cellular Context Dependence
Cellular Context Dependence is a theoretical construct in molecular biology that denotes the phenomenon whereby the functional outcome of death receptor signaling is determined by the specific cellular environment, including expression levels of regulatory proteins, cell type, and concurrent signaling pathways, thereby distinguishing it from intrinsic or universally deterministic models of apoptosis regulation.
