Call Games

Call Games is a ritualized verbal interaction among children, categorized as a folkloric speech event, that distinguishes itself by involving a structured, rule-bound exchange in which one child initiates a rhymed or rhythmic call and others respond with a prescribed formulaic reply, often serving as a means of inclusion, exclusion, or group coordination during play.
