Belief Revision
Belief revision is a research field investigating the principles and mechanisms by which an agent rationally modifies its existing set of beliefs upon acquiring new information, particularly when that information conflicts with prior knowledge, with the primary goals of maintaining logical consistency and coherence while minimizing the alteration of the original belief state.
