The article “The lags of traditional education in current times in Ecuador: A prison education within educational institutions” addresses the limitations of the Ecuadorian educational system, marked by traditional methodologies focused on memorization, deficiencies in infrastructure and unequal access to technologies. These conditions perpetuate inequalities, especially in rural areas, limiting the integral development of students and their ability to face current challenges. A literature review identifies the main factors that perpetuate educational backwardness, such as outdated teacher training and lack of adequate resources. The study proposes strategies such as the implementation of innovative pedagogical methodologies, the strengthening of teacher training and investment in infrastructure and technology, especially in vulnerable areas. These measures seek to ensure a more inclusive and equitable education system that is adapted to the demands of the 21st century, promoting sustainable social and economic development.
