Abstract

Patented intellectual property in artificial intelligence opens up new opportunities for entrepreneurship for more innovative business strategies and processes. However, the application of artificial intelligence in entrepreneurship faces several challenges. Not all entrepreneurs apply artificial intelligence-based technological solutions and integrate them into their business practice. This study was conducted to discover the patent landscape and trends, as well as the leading intellectual property on artificial intelligence in entrepreneurship across countries. The researchers applied patent landscape analysis using data from 897 patent intellectual property documents from the Lens database. The results showed that every year, in general, there was an increasing trend in the number of patents related to artificial intelligence in entrepreneurship. There are opportunities for entrepreneurship without paying royalties by using 174 discontinued patents. Intellectual property patents related to artificial intelligence were dominated by the owners of companies and inventors from the United States, with 45 patents. The physics (G) and electricity (H) patents section overwhelms the patents related to artificial intelligence in entrepreneurship. There were 471 patents of the simple family of artificial intelligence in four jurisdictions, the highest in the United States.
