CD8<sup>+</sup> T cells inhibit metastasis. When the balance between CD8<sup>+</sup> T cells and platelets is disrupted, platelets produce CXCL4, which induces MDSCs thereby inhibiting the CD8<sup>+</sup> T-cell function.
