Trauma is a critical public health issue as the leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 1 and 44 years. In response to this reality, a number of Stop the Bleed education programs are being implemented to teach the lay public how to stop exsanguinating hemorrhage in preventable deaths. To date, there are limited data available to compare effectiveness of these programs. Because there is limited capacity to track outcome measures at this time, authors offer direction to practitioners on 12 process measures that will best allow comparisons among programs to make informed decisions when implementing Stop the Bleed education.
