Abstract In isothermal gas chromatography, the peak widths have been demonstrated to be a linear function of retention time. For most quantitative purposes, the product of the retention time and peak height can be used for area measurement. Statistical comparison of results obtained by this procedure and by triangulation demonstrate its validity.
