Abstract

In this paper empirical results are presented on the degree of consumer loyalty for food and grocery products at individual stores. The empirical data are derivedfrom a recently conducted consumer panel survey in Cardiff, UK. A measure of store loyalty based on expenditure at stores is used, and the relationship between store loyalty and the socioeconomic and demographic characteristics of households, and the types of store which attract loyal buyers, are also considered.
