The radioactivity was measured with a thin end-window Geiger-Miller counter on 0-5 ml. of the solution dried on a nickel planchette. Loss of radioactive cyanide or thio- cyanate was prevented by adding excess AgNO3 before drying and by using a hotplate in place of the more usual infrared lamp, which could cause some photolytic decompo- sition. SUMMARY 1. The structures and stabilities of a series of cobalamnins have been studied, mainly by tracer techniques and by measurements of absorption spectra and partition coefficients.
