Combining Ability of Yield and Yield components in Okra

In the present study 9 lines and 7 testers of okra were crossed in line x tester fashion. The 63 F 1 hybrids along with 16 parents were grown to estimate GCA and SCA for eight yield contributing characters. DVR-4 and SOH-02 among lines and Arka Anamika among testers showed good GCA effects for yield and most of the yield attributes. Among the hybrids NK-01 x Ankur-40 and JNDO-5 x Arka Anamika showed best performance for yield, No. of seeds per fruit and plant height.
