Abstract

Using a mixed diet in which liver and fish were the principal sources of protein, Dickinson & Scott (1956b) found that growth of kittens was only satisfactory when the protein fraction (N x 6-25) exceeded 30 yo of the dry weight of the diet. The aim of the experiment reported here was to determine the minimum amount of protein, in a similar diet, necessary to maintain adult resting cats in nitrogen equilibrium.
