Water-insoluble ATP deaminase was pre-pared and some enzymatic properties of DEAE-cellulose bound water-insoluble de-aminase were compared with those of free deaminase. 1) Optimum pH of bound deaminase was 3.0, whereas that of free deaminase was 5.0. 2) Optimum temperature and substrate speci-ficity were the same as free deaminase. 3) Bound enzyme was quite stable at 4°C for 25 days at both pH 5.0 and 7.4. It is more stable at pH 5.0 than pH 7.4. At pH 5.0 and 37°C, 99 and 71% of enzyme activity were still kept after 3 and 7 days, respectively. 4) Continuous preparation of IMP from AMP by bound ATP deaminase was studied.
