Spectral reflectance property of the leaves is a good indicator of the presence of spraydroplets on the leaf surface. An experiment was designed to study the feasibility of detecting andquantifying the leaf surface moisture content based on the reflectance properties of the wet leaf. The use of the radiative transfer model to predict the spectral behavior of the leaf was evaluated. The presence of moisture on the surface of the leaves causes a change of spectral reflectance ofthe leaf surface. This property is very useful in evaluating whether the targeted leaves haveintercepted the spray droplets or not. Droplet retention on the leaf surface is critical because onlythe retained spray is useful for crop protection.
