Abstract

ABSTRACT A simple and rapid method for the purification of fish myosin with high yield was developed. The method consisted of washing chopped fish muscle with a 0.1M KCl solution, an extraction of myosin with a 0.45M KCl solution containing ATP, and steps of reprecipitation and redissolution by changes in ionic strength. Actin can easily be obtained as a component of the myosin preparation.
