Depolarization mechanisms for muonium in germanium

The depolarization rate $\ensuremath{\lambda}$ of normal and anomalous muonium in Ge was studied as a function of temperature and doping. Evidence for three different depolarization mechanisms is presented: (i) exchange interaction with paramagnetic doping atoms ($T<20$ K); (ii) Korringa scattering of impurity charge carriers ($20<T<50$ K); and (iii) an intrinsic process, either a chemical reaction or a spin-lattice relaxation ($T>50$ K).
